Cat Distribution System

From Wikihow: "The Cat Distribution System explains how cats randomly appear in your life"

The idea:

I stumbled upon the term while watching YouTube, specifically this video: Cat Distribution System. The room where the cats monitor their "targets" looked like a room for launching missiles. So, I came up with the idea that the stray cats were launched from some secret station from very far away, aiming at people on the street to relieve their sadness. The paper planes fit with their style, so I spent several days researching aircraft equations of motion and learned a lot.

Controls:

The main buttons to control were: Up/Down/Left/Right or W/S/A/D, and Space. 

- While not aiming the cannon:

Buttons	Function
Up/Down/Left/Right or W/S/A/D	Looking around
Space	Load a cat and start aiming

- While aiming the launching cannon:

Buttons	Function
Up/Down or W/S	Adjust the angle of the cannon
Space	Launch

- After switching to the launched cat, it will have a few states that you can transition forward with Space.

State	Explanation
Launched	Right after the cat has  just launched, you don't have control over its movement, yet
Flying	You control the cat on a paper plane. Holding Up/Down or W/S to heading up or down
Parachuting	Reduce the cat's speed for a precise landing
Wandering	Walking around with Left/Right or A/D. The cat cannot jump onto a higher platform so you should make your way precisely from  the previous states

- While wandering, attract a person's attention with Space, the cat will cheer them up. It's your goal to cheer everyone up on the level.

 - You can optionally collect the stars for the final rating. It's straight from Angry Birds, so I have nothing to say about it.

Jam notes:

This is a late submission for the Untitled Game Jam #97 with the theme "Cats".

I didn't have the time for sound design so the game was initially uploaded without sound effects (that upload was already late). Later, I was able to add some simple sound effects. For clarity, the file with added audio was uploaded separately for now.
